Legal Notice & AI Disclosure
Last updated: 2 October 2026
Things To Do Your Thing is an independent website run by a private collector of older electronics. It shares information, historical context and practical ideas for rediscovering devices, formats and technologies from earlier years.
1. Independent status
This website is not owned, operated, sponsored or endorsed by Philips or any other manufacturer mentioned here. The domain’s historical connection with a Philips campaign does not make the present website an official continuation of that campaign. Product names, trademarks and logos identify the relevant products and their owners; their appearance does not imply affiliation or endorsement.
2. How we use artificial intelligence
We use AI tools to help design, construct and maintain the website; research and organise information; draft, edit and structure text; and generate or modify graphics, illustrative images, photographic-style images and other editorial materials.
AI is a production aid. It is not a manufacturer, an eyewitness or evidence that a physical device has been inspected or tested. The operator remains responsible for editorial decisions and for checking material before publication.
3. Illustrations and photographic-style images
Some visuals on this website are generated or modified with AI to make the accompanying content easier to understand or more engaging. They may depict imagined settings, reconstructions or simplified representations. Unless identified as an authentic photograph or source document, an illustrative image should not be treated as proof of a product’s exact appearance, dimensions, controls, connectors, condition or historical use.
We do not routinely place a separate AI label beside every clearly illustrative or decorative image. Instead, this notice explains our general use of AI. These materials are intended to support the content, not to mislead readers or pass fabricated evidence off as authentic documentation.
This approach does not override disclosure requirements. Where an image could reasonably be mistaken for an authentic photograph or recording, or where applicable law requires a specific disclosure, we will identify its generated or manipulated nature clearly at the point where readers encounter it. We will also distinguish reconstructions and concept images from verified product photographs wherever that distinction matters to understanding the article.
Technical claims should be assessed using the cited documentation and clearly described tests, rather than inferred from an illustration. We do not present an AI-generated product image as a verified reference photograph of that model.
4. Accuracy, sources and corrections
We aim to provide useful, accurate material and distinguish documented specifications, practical experience and uncertain information. AI output and historical sources can contain errors. Specifications and compatibility may differ by region, hardware revision, firmware or software version.
A statement that a device works with a particular system applies only to the conditions described. An article is not a claim that we personally tested every device or procedure it mentions. A reported hands-on test should identify what was actually tested.
If you find a mistake or misleading illustration, send the page URL and relevant evidence to info@thingstodoyourthing.com. We will assess substantiated correction requests and update the material where appropriate.
5. Practical information and limitations
The site provides general educational and historical information. It does not replace instructions for your exact device or qualified repair advice. Check compatibility and manufacturer guidance before connecting equipment, changing firmware or attempting repairs. Older batteries, power supplies and electrical equipment may require professional inspection.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the site is provided without a guarantee that every item is complete, current, error-free or suitable for every use. Nothing in this notice excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or removes any mandatory rights you may have.
6. Copyright, credits and external links
Third-party photographs, manuals, advertisements and other source materials remain subject to their owners’ rights and any stated licence conditions. A reference or link does not grant permission to reproduce the linked material. AI assistance likewise does not remove third-party rights or licence obligations.
Credits and licence information supplied with a particular asset continue to apply. This AI disclosure does not replace required attribution. External websites are independently operated and may change their content, availability and terms.
If you believe material on this site infringes your rights, contact us with the relevant page URL, identification of the material and an explanation of your rights or authority to act. Please include a way for us to reply.
7. Contact and privacy
For general enquiries, corrections and rights-related requests, contact info@thingstodoyourthing.com. Information about personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.
